Prayer

1 John 5:14-15
14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.


We are a church that believes in the power of prayer.  Please read through the prayer requests and pray for those who are seeking prayer.  Contact Scotty Raines greatscot1953@yahoo.com with any and all prayer requests and praise reports.


Prayer for Provision

Lord, Your name is above every name that has ever been named, You are the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. You are a generous and loving God, and there is nothing beyond Your reach. You are my hope and salvation, and You are my rock.

You know me Lord, You know my needs and You know the obstacles that stand between my needs and the abundant provision that You want to supply. I’m asking Lord for Your hand of provision to reach into my situation. Give me revelation and wisdom, and the courage to do what You show me. Guide me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.

Lord, You said that we can speak to the mountain, the obstacles, that stand between us and Your desires. I speak to these obstacles that hold me back from receiving Your blessings, and I command them to move aside in Jesus name. I call for Your revelation to come to me. Reveal to me Lord, what these mountains are that challenge Your provision for me, and give me the courage, and faith to rebuke them, and command them to move aside.

[at this point lift any prayers for specific obstacles you know you need to rebuke]

Bless me Lord with the abundant provision You have promised us. Not meager provision, but abundant provision that is pressed down and overflowing. The provision that honors You as the generous provider that You are. Cast down the lies of the devil, and cause fresh faith to rise in my heart, that I might stand firm on Your promises, honor Your holy name, and receive all that You have in Your hand for me.

Prayer Requests

Toi Peddie's friends Cathy Hall, and her daughters, Connie and Diane, lost their father suddently last week.  Don Hall, along with Cathy, were longtime frinds that travelled here to St Joseph for Toi and Richards 50th anniversary this past summer.  Don was a Christian and is now home with the LORD.

Gracie Diehl (Freda's daughter-in-law) has been confined to bed because of sciatic nerve problems.  Please pray for a full recovery for her.

Got a phone call from Freda about her daughter Mary.  She is going in for surgery this afternoon at 2 pm (outpatient).  They will be removing 2 toes from her right foot.  Her son Jason will be moving in with her.  Jason was working as a paramedic, but just lost his job. God's timing is perfect since his mom needs the help.  Pray for Mary and for Jason (for his financial situation).
 
Randy W-Fry is settling in on his new job in Arizona.  Keep him in your prayers.
Also remember Jean and Vicky during this transition.

Praise Reports

PRAISE GOD!!!  I have accepted a position with Freeport-McMoRan the world's largest publicly owned copper company.  As you have probably guessed the job will mean a relocation (there are not a lot of copper mines in southwest Michigan) to Arizona east of Phoenix.  

While I am excited about this new opportunity in a very different industry and am looking forward to the challenges ahead, I am also saddened to be leaving the area I have called my home for the last five years and the people who have become my friends.

Thank you for your prayers and support during this very difficult time for my family.  This may have been a time "in the wilderness", but it has also been a time of blessings and constant reminders that God is in charge.  

Please pray  that my family continue to focus on God's substance as we exchange the circumstances of unemployment for the circumstances of relocation.

Tom and Shelly Churchill have found a house to move into downtown on Main St. right across from the Berrien Admin Office.  The house needs a little work, but the landlord is being very cooperative.   Praise the Lord!
